First post from gitjournal

One of the reasons why I blog less often is that I don’t feel like writing anything personal on a laptop. I either doodle with a pen/paper or fiddle with a quick note on my mobile to self.

This is an attempt to use gitjournal android app with my existing blog workflow (Gitlab pages + Hugo) to see if it works.

Doing this might lead to more frequent blogs. Let’s see 🙈

Test 1: it actually works! God damn, super smooth operation.

Test 2: Uploading image of a random fortune cookie 🥠

… and we’re down a rabbit hole. Major issues with images

• huuge size (can with a workflow I think?) -> shortcodes which also resize images automatically
• relative URLs are not working -> done
• alt tags missing -> done

Fixed all. Upgraded to hugo extended and learnt about shortcodes :-) This is so cool.

That’s all we need folks, gitjournal is alive and kicking. Only if the UI of this android app was a bit nicer. I’d be jumping.
